The Circuitous Route

So, the other day I received an e-mail from someone RSVP-ing for 2 people to my upcoming workshop. Only, I didn't have a clue who she was! So, I picked up the phone and gave her a call. When I asked how she found out about the workshop, she said, "From your mom." Now, I knew that had to be wrong - my mom lives in Tennessee, after all. So I questioned her, asking, "Are you sure it was my mom?" And here's how the story goes.
I sent my workshop flier out to a bunch of friends, co-workers, family, etc. I sent it to my mom (who lives in Crossville, TN) solely because she's my mom and I want her to feel like she's part of my life. Being the proud parent, she sent it to a friend of hers who lives in Irving, TX. Again, for no other reason than the fact that she was proud of me and wanted to "show me off." He said he would forward it on to some friends, but she swears she didn't believe him. Well, much to her amazement, he forwarded it to a friend of his who lives in So. Cal, and that friend gave it to her employee. The employee decided to come to the workshop and bring along her best friend. Voila! There you go - two unexpected participants!
This experience showed me that just because my brain has a tendency to be linear, life definitely is not! It also reinforces the fact that I only need to focus on the "what", and let the universe figure out the "how". Pretty cool.
Thanks, mom. You're the best!

Cool post-I agree Nancy. Moms are the best.
YAY! so very cool!
We do not think small thoughts… anything can happen!!! The best usually happens when you have no idea or expectations because you “never thought”… that makes it WIDE OPEN to let the Universe have it’s way!
Life is so full of those synchronistic moments! No mistakes. ;o)
Wow, righton! And just think about it from their perspective..imagine if it ends up being just what their lives needed at this moment?? “So…it all started when my friend’s boss’ friend’s friend’s daughter did this workshop…”
If I ever have anything to market, i’m totally getting in touch with your mom
Oh, thank God for moms! Our very own, wonderful cheering section, so glad that you shared that with us all.
Nice! Amazing how it all works when we get out of our own way. And I have no doubt it is very much related to the love and happiness your Mom has for you.
I was listening to Wayne Dyer’s- It’s Never Crowded On The Extra Mile on the way back from Cal tonight and wrote down a quote that struck me in a big way:
“Your job is not to say, “How?” Your job is to say, “Yes”.
Here’s to saying “YES” to your success in a BIG way! :-)
Cool! Your mom rocks… so do you!
Thank you all so very much for your comments and energy! I’m flying toward my workshop on Saturday and life feels great. I have no doubts that the love & support I receive here at Zaadz are already creating my best workshop ever. I am so blessed to have you all in my life. Much love - Nancy
