An Observation re: The Secret

I love all of the discussions re: The Secret – both pros and cons. I think a good debate is healthy – and that Spirit/The Universe/God/etc., would dig our desire to question, learn and grow.
Here’s an interesting observation I’ve had re: many of my friends’ responses to The Secret.
The Law of Attraction is all about how we attract to us what’s in our consciousness. A big part of that, of course, is simply that we’re much more likely to notice and connect with things outside of ourselves that are consistent with our conscious or unconscious minds (hugely unconscious).
So, I’m left wondering . . . what do people’s responses to The Secret – both positive and negative – reflect about their own consciousness? Any insights?

Here are my own observations. First - mine. When they were talking about health, I had this sly little thought sneak into the back of my mind saying, “It's not as easy as that! You have to take care of yourself, and it can be hard!” I'm not even sure the thought was fully conscious at first. It represented my fear that getting my body back to health is hard work. I'm grateful it came forward, cuz now I've planted a new idea in its place - “My body is a magnificent healing machine, and my job is to simply give it the tools to do its work.”
The other interesting observation I've had re: friends is that a few of them have judged The Secret folks for being out to make a lot of money. I find this one particularly interesting since a) there's no way they could know that since they can never really know someone else's heart (especially if they've never had a personal interaction with them), so b) the thoughts/judgments/feelings MUST be coming from inside of their own consciousness.
Maybe it springs from the limiting belief that spirituality and abundance don't go together, or even the idea that THEY could never be prosperous doing and talking about the things they love. I can't really say. For me, abundance and the circulation of abundance and doing what I love is the absolute nature of Spirit, but it's definitely been a journey (from my Southern Baptist roots!) for me to get here. =)
here's mine :)

and here are links to follow up conversations on the secret with the likes of jean houston and debby ford on the last of the 3 calls who are openly critical about what is missng from the film.
